Day 1: M’Hamid – Sidi Naji
The trek begins early in the morning in M’Hamid, the gateway to the Moroccan desert. After setting off, you’ll cross the region’s lush palm grove, offering an unexpected touch of greenery amidst the desert expanses. A lunch break is planned in the shade of tamarisk trees before continuing your journey to Sidi Naji, a place steeped in history and famous for the marabout (shrine) buried there. At the end of the day, the bivouac is set up with the help of the participants and the local team. The tents can accommodate one, two, or three people and are equipped with mattresses and blankets. It is recommended to bring your own sleeping bag for added comfort. The evening unfolds around a traditional dinner and a campfire under the starry desert sky, offering a magical first immersion into the Saharan atmosphere.
Day 2: Sidi Naji – Erg Aït Ounir
After a peaceful night under the stars, you head towards Erg Aït Ounir, an iconic desert site with its spectacular golden dunes. The crossing is made on foot, accompanied by camels that can carry your belongings. The bivouac is set up at the end of the day, with the same tents equipped with mattresses and blankets. The evening is dedicated to a traditional dinner and relaxing around the campfire under an exceptional night sky, offering total immersion in the world of the Sahara.
Day 3: Erg Aït Ounir – M’Hamid
The final day begins with waking up at sunrise, offering a luminous spectacle on the dunes. After breakfast, you resume your trek towards M’Hamid, crossing typical desert landscapes, between dunes, regs (stony plains), and palm groves. The trek concludes in the late morning in M’Hamid, leaving participants with the memory of an authentic and unforgettable experience in the heart of the Moroccan Sahara, combining nature, culture and nomadic encounters.
